with Elite Cosmopolitan Travel Host Tamiko
Three things made the day trip to Milwaukee Brewing Company an absolute yes for me. First, I would get a chance to visit my hometown and see friends and family. Secondly, I’m a beer girl to my core so any opportunity to pour a new ale over my palate will be intriguing to me. Lastly, The Rooftop MKE in summer. Need I say more.

I don’t make it home often, so when I do I want to see my family, long-time friends and meet new people. Oft times I’ll fly in just to put my eyes on my middle son. On those trips I won’t travel too far from the Mitchell International Airport or Oak Creek / Franklin area. I can find solace in just seeing his face and putting my arms around his now 6’4″ frame.
With Milwaukee, Wisconsin being my birthplace and home for 43 years I have countless friends and family members who are still local to the area. Unfortunately, since my schedule usually doesn’t permit me to stay long, I opted to make my hometown the first place I visited with Elite Day Trips hosted by Tamiko. This group is directly connected to the Elite Cosmopolitan travel blog on Facebook. The focus of this group is to bring people with similar interests in travel, culture and tourism together in cities around the world for the purpose of creating bonds and hopefully cultivating lasting friendships and memories.
This past Thursday evening we hosted View and Brews MKE at The Rooftop MKE at the Milwaukee Brewing Company. The event was sponsored by Hard Stack Street Magazine with the CEO, Dale Brister, in attendance.

I’m a self proclaimed beer girl so this was a great spot to get my feet wet with Elite Day Trips. There are full service bars both inside and on the rooftop, however, if you’re visiting a local brewery why not try one of the local brews. My beer of choice for the evening was the cream ale Outboard. Here are the beer stats according to the Milwaukee Brewing Co. website:
- Type: Year Round Release
- Style: Cream Ale
- ABV: 5.0
- IBU: 13
As you can see by the International Bitterness Units or IBU scale low rating the Outboard is a great choice for someone who doesn’t like the bitter taste that a brew with more hops would have. I don’t mind a more bitter taste in a good beer but this, I found, was an excellent choice for the warm summer on The Rooftop MKE.

I hope to get to meet you as I host Elite Day Trips wherever in the world you may be. Enjoy more photos for our first day trip event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Like and follow our page Elite Cosmopolitan . Join Elite Day Trips Hosted by Tamiko Facebook group.
